Plants on the sides of a building

I need some help with a project.

I would like to grow plants on the side of my building in the cracks between the building and the cement. This is where weeds currently grow.

I like the way the weeds look but they seem haphazard. I would like to cultivate something in this spot. It would be nice to have plants growing out of the side of the building possibly with nice flowers.

My question is what kind of plants can I grow in this spot? It gets a large amount of sun.

I would imagine that would depend on how big these cracks are. If they are small you could seed drought resistant annuals like tall marigolds or cleome.

Be careful with some plants... they could do lots of damage to your building as the roots get established. Is this a sunny side or a shady side? I've seen celandie (wood poppy) do this.. but their strong roots can eat up bricks!
